CEDRAT News 56 - Guiding Your Technical Innovation 11 June 2008

Our new slogan is born and represents more than ever CEDRAT Group’s motto.
« Guiding your Technical Innovation » remains our main objective to better meet your expectations.
2 topics on innovations:
• As a member of the European Association of Research and Technology Organisations (EARTO), we perform different kinds of R&D projects. On February 2008, we had an audit on our research capability (SRC) and our agreement has been extended !
• New software versions (Flux 10.2, Portunus 2.1) have been released to increase your productivity and improve the performances of your devices and systems.
In this month’s issue, we focus 3 articles dedicated to studies on composite materials used in the aircraft industry. Again technical innovation is one of our top priorities... Also in the aerospace environment (composite..., Structural..., Modelling NDT...).

Last but not least our key figures for 2007
- Turnover: 6.7 M€
- Employees: 64 persons
- Network: 31 distributors worldwide.

CEDRAT News 55 - Best Wishes for 2008 28 January 2008

It is always true that building for the future depends on our understanding of the past. Looking briefly at what 2007 held for CEDRAT Group, we can report a good increase in turnover, major new releases (Flux V10 and CIVAnde 9), the ADAPTED SOLUTIONS (Portunus software) partnership, over 1,000 built (60% additional turnover), products delivered to NASA and many R&D and industrial contracts signed.

2007 is behind us. We can now look forward to 2008 and a year of change.
We have decided to capitalise on the synergies between our 3 entities, CEDRAT, Cedrat Technologies, Magsoft and adapted solutions. This means setting up a new organisation around a single brand, “Groupe CEDRAT”. The goal of this merger is to provide you better services in our 5 key fields:
Software:   Flux, Portunus, InCa3D, CIVAnde, SPEED, Motor-CAD, PSCAD, ...
Mechatronics:  Piezo products and systems,
Consulting:  Studies and projects management,
Training:   Mechatronics, magnetism, software & technical trainings, ...
Helpdesk:   Support, documentation.

Part of this change is to change the name of your magazine from “Flux Magazine” () to “CEDRAT News”. We hope it meets with your approval !

Enjoy the read and best wishes for 2008.

Flux Magazine 54 - A single disc made of polycarbonate… 12 July 2007

Months of reflexion, development, meetings and validation tests for a new version. A lot for a single disc made of polycarbonate, one might say. But this single disc (that we usually call CD-Rom) gathers the finest simulation technologies.

In their respective application fields, Flux 10, Motor-CAD 4 and Portunus 1.4 provide end users - academics or from industry - with advanced simulation capabilities. These months working with a single – and simple – goal: simplifying the engineers' life. A new interface for postprocessing in 3D with Flux, a new sensitivity analysis capabilities of Motor-CAD, chaining between Portunus and InCa3D : all these new features follow this direction to help engineers focus on their core business...

Flux Magazine 53 - Best Wishes for 2007... 25 January 2007

The whole team of CEDRAT is happy to wish you a Very Happy New Year 2007. May it bring you joy and prosperity in your individual and professional life.

2006 was the year of the twentieth anniversary of Magsoft. It ended with a joint agreement between CEDRAT and Adapted Solutions, company specialised in software solutions for mechatronics and electrical systems. This strategic partnership allows CEDRAT to further its presence in the market of simulation software and ADAPTED SOLUTIONS strengthen its international activities. More information are given in this issue....

Flux Magazine 52 - Let's come back! 8 October 2006

After short or long summer vacations, we are back to work. For the best as CEDRAT did not stop working during this summer. Many of those works will be presented during the Users Conference in Padova, October 19th and 20th, but we can unveil some of them.

We travelled on the InCa trail in the previous issue of FLUX Magazine… Let us keep the comparison to say that, now, InCa reached its first campsite: version 1 is released and marketed. To test and use without moderation!

Flux Magazine 51 - Conferences 15 June 2006

Spring and Autumn are traditionally the times of year when you’re likely to bump into CEDRAT people at the various scientific conferences relating to our markets. With a strong scientific bias, these events also allow us to further tailor our products to the market’s needs, find out more about the latest trends and assess our position on our markets. ICEM 2004 taught us a lot about

FLUX’s high profile on the electrical rotating machines market. The 2006 edition of the conference offers us the chance to prepare a presentation on rotating machine modelisation with CEDRAT’s software solutions: SPEED, Motor-CAD and FLUX. But CEDRAT is also involved in other applications: linear actuators, non-destructive testing with CIVAnde, power systems with PCAD, bus bars with InCa, etc.…

The CEDRAT Group’s skills in electrical and mecatronic engineering are tried and tested, but there is still a lot we can learn by pitching our products against your needs during these Spring and Autumn conferences.

Flux Magazine 50 - Get ready for PSCAD 4.2 15 January 2006

The story of FLUX Magazine reaches now a new stage. This issue 50 celebrates 18 years (the first FLUX Magazine was issued in January 1988) providing you valuable information regarding our software solutions as well as even more valuable user feedback regarding their applications and use of their favourite package.

The spirit of the pioneers keeps flowing in our veins: providing the cutting edge software solutions to model an ever increasing number of cases with an increasing complexity.

One of the best example of the outstanding technology that FLUX provides is the electromagnetic simulation of ships. Pioneering this domain in the early 90’s, FLUX is now leading the market and yet keeps providing new models, such as the new “Electrolysis” application to account for more phenomena.

Flux Magazine 49 - Reach the Summits of Electrical Engineering 22 September 2005

Put our commitments into practice is one of the key principles of our company. We did not reach the top of the world, but reached the summit of Americas, the Aconcagua, 6942 m in Argentina.

More eriously, like this expedition of our collaborator Sébastien Cadeau-Belliard, we progressively climb the slopes of the “simulation peak”. We bring into play the needed investments to offer you up-market tools for your designs:
- SPEED and Motor-CAD to design rotating machines,
- CIVAnde to analyse and design non destructive testing systems,
- FLUX to model magnetic, electric and thermal fields,
- ATILA to optimise active material based devices,
- PSCAD to analyse electrical networks and power quality.

Hence, as the sherpas, we will accompany you to reach your summits.

Flux Magazine 48 - Science without conscience is only soul ruin 17 May 2005

Read on the wall of one of the universities that welcomed us for presentations that gathered many participants, this quote from Rabelais expressed the ambition brought  by the software solutions we propose: serve science, academic as well as industrial, without forgetting that people are using those solutions. We will not tell you that everything is possible, that FLUX will serve you coffee, but we prefer to show you that your needs may find their solution through our range of products and services.

And this active process has been again acknowledged by new customers who appreciated the quality of our technical support.

Flux Magazine 46 - This autumn’s harvest. 06 October 2004

As you all know, winter is the favourite season for inhabitants of Grenoble (and Meylan). We are getting ready to spend the best winter ever. On the one hand, ATILA 5.2.4 has now been released with a new preprocessor for more flexibility. On the other hand, FLUX keeps fulfilling its users’ need: for cable design, as the testimony from Kvaerner Oilfields Products (Norway) shows; for motor design, as described in the article regarding modelling of skewed machines; for Non Destructive Evaluation (NDE), which has been one of our main field of interest: developments in FLUX that lead to a dedicated training to NDE modelling and commercial agreements with CEA List for the distribution of CIVA, the most complete software solution for NDE simulation. At last, but not the least, FLUX 9.1 is now in its final stage of Quality Assurance process. Discover a preview of this version, before the of commercial presentation, during the Users Club in Grenoble.
